Using Checkonlineprice

You may use the site only if you are old enough to enter a binding contract where you live (usually 18) and can lawfully use it. You are responsible for what happens from your browser, which is the only identity the site has.

We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we do not guarantee that the site will always be available.

Your ads

You must own each item you list or have the owner's permission to sell it, and you must describe it honestly. Use photos you have the right to publish, set a price you intend to honour, and post one ad per item. Ads are public, so do not include information you would not want a stranger to see.

Prohibited items and content

We do not allow ads for:

• illegal goods or services, stolen property, or counterfeits;
• weapons, ammunition or explosives;
• drugs or drug paraphernalia;
• pornography, sexual services, or sexual content involving minors;
• hateful, harassing, threatening or graphically violent material;
• other people's private information, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.

Moderation

Photos are screened automatically before an ad is published, and we may review ads ourselves. We can edit, hide or remove an ad, limit how often you post, or stop you using the site if an ad or your conduct breaks these terms or the law.

Removing an ad does not by itself entitle you to a refund, but it does not affect rights you have under consumer law.

Free listing and paid plans

Each browser gets 15 free days, starting when its first ad is published. After that, ads are hidden unless you buy a plan. Plans are one-time purchases in US dollars: 30 days for $5, 90 days for $10, and 365 days for $30, as shown at checkout.

Payment is handled by Stripe. Time is added to the end of an active plan, a paid plan replaces any remaining free days, and nothing renews automatically. If an ad is hidden when time runs out it is kept and comes back when you renew. Nothing here removes mandatory refund or consumer rights.

Dealings between users

Checkonlineprice is a noticeboard, not a shop. We are not a party to any sale, do not hold or transfer payment, and cannot guarantee an item, a seller or a buyer. Meet in a safe public place, inspect before you pay, and use your own judgement.

Your content

You keep the rights you already have in your text and photos. By posting, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, display and distribute that content as needed to run and promote the site — for example in search results and previews. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept in backups, already shared by others, or required by law.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape or bulk-copy the site, run bots, send spam, post fake or duplicate ads, harass other people, try to bypass limits or security, or use the site to break the law.

Our content

The Checkonlineprice name, logo, design, text and code belong to us or our licensors. You may link to the site, but you may not copy it to build a competing service without our written permission.

Disclaimers and liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or the conduct of other users.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing affects mandatory consumer rights.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use Checkonlineprice after a change means you accept the new terms.
